Aquascape
Flowing water, synthesised rather than looped, over filtered noise that softens the room. Shaped to your frequency so it cradles the other layers instead of covering them.
Spatial soundscape
The notes of a melody, drawn from a clinically proven tonal scale - the note pattern shown in sleep-lab studies to help people fall asleep faster - and spatially spread between the two transducers. When the soundwaves meet inside your skull they combine to produce slower soundwaves in the 2-4 Hz range. This is the range that has been clinically associated with deep sleep state.

Three layers, one descent.
Out of the box, a session runs all three layers together, each with a job.
A steady tonal bed at your frequency. It gives your attention one unchanging thing to rest on.
Water drifts slowly from one side of your forehead to the other and back — a gentle, rocking sweep that also softens the room around you.
The lullaby, spread between the two pads, carries the 2–4 Hz slow wave your brain runs on in deep sleep.
Over the session, the layers gradually simplify and fade — the stack does less as you need less, ending in near silence.

Some people settle into a pure, steady tone. Others need the movement of water. In the app, choose which layer leads:
Drone-led
The tonal bed comes forward; water recedes or drops out. For people who find any changing sound — even water — something their mind tracks.
Aqua-led
Water comes forward; the drone recedes to a trace. For people who find sustained tones clinical, or who sleep in noisy rooms and want more cover.
Whichever you choose, the spatial soundscape stays. It is the layer doing the slow-wave work — the other two are there to make it comfortable to live with, night after night.

Your forehead is not an arbitrary place to put a speaker. It is one of the most densely wired patches of skin on your body, and the wire runs somewhere useful.
PIEZO2 channels in the skin convert mechanical movement into nerve signals. In people born without working PIEZO2, vibration cannot be felt at all.
This branch of the trigeminal nerve runs from your brow directly to the brainstem — a short trip, with no relay through the ear.
Trigeminal input lands on the nuclei that gate the switch between alert and asleep. Stimulating this pathway has improved insomnia symptoms in published clinical work.
