SONU

The SONU band is the world’s first and only FDA 510(k) Cleared, drug- free, wearable therapy for symptoms related to allergic and nonallergic rhinitis. This includes nasal congestion, sneezing, runny nose, and nasal itching.

Personalized Acoustic Therapy: The SONU band uses your iPhone or Android camera and app to scan your face, creating a personalized therapy tuned to your unique facial geometry.

Sound Wave Relief: It emits gentle, resonant sound waves via precision bone conduction transducers that vibrate your sinuses and nasal cavities.

Threefold Action: These vibrations break up dense mucus, increase mucociliary clearance (helping mucus drain), and reduce inflammation, opening your nasal airways in 15 minutes or less.

SONU Band is indicated for the relief of moderate to severe nasal congestion due to allergic and non-allergic rhinitis.

The answer is yes—and here are a few key points.

FDA- and FCC-Cleared: SONU has successfully passed all regulatory safety testing, including emissions and biocompatibility evaluations.

Low EMF Emissions: SONU uses Bluetooth and bone conduction speakers, which are positioned on the forehead rather than inside the ear canal. As a result, sound exposure is lower than typical in-ear devices, and the device operates at extremely low power levels—well below FCC limits. SONU is designed with user safety as a top priority and fully complies with all FCC regulations related to electromagnetic field (EMF) exposure. The device has been tested to meet the standards of:

  • FCC Part 15.247 – Governing low-power wireless devices such as Bluetooth systems, ensuring safe emitted power levels and non-interference with other devices.
  • FCC KDB 447498 – Providing RF exposure evaluation guidance and confirming emissions fall well within safe limits for portable and mobile devices. For additional safety and compliance information, you can reference Sections 3 and 12 of the SONU Product Manual.

Up to 5 sessions. We recommend daily charging.

  • Press and hold the power button for ~4 seconds (for SONU_1.8.22+).
  • Or disconnect via Bluetooth settings.

It is recommended to charge the band as needed based on your usage to ensure it is ready for your sessions. The band comes with a USB-C charging cable for convenient charging.

The SONU band requires an iPhone 10 or newer (or iPads with Face ID) because it uses the SONU app, which relies on advanced camera ( Face ID) available only on these newer devices to scan your face and personalize the therapy. This ensures the band delivers optimal, personalized vibrational sound waves tuned to your unique facial geometry for effective nasal congestion relief. This compatibility is essential for the app's AI-powered analysis the SONU band.

Note: SONU App is not compatible with Android One Plus devices

We need to scan your face using the SONU app to personalize your therapy. The scan helps the band deliver sound waves that are specifically tuned to your unique nasal anatomy, ensuring the optimal vibrational frequency for effective relief of nasal congestion and allergy symptoms. This personalized approach makes the therapy more comfortable and efficient in opening your airway within minutes.

Rest assured that we value your privacy and do not store your face image.

The purple circles inside the SONU band are medical-grade precision silicone bone conduction transducers (speakers). These transducers deliver the personalized vibrational acoustic resonance therapy that helps to rapidly clear nasal congestion by gently vibrating the sinus and nasal cavities. This unique technology is what allows SONU to provide drug-free, effective relief tailored to your nasal anotomy.

80% is ideal. Higher volumes may drain the battery faster.
A volume alert will appear in the app if the level is outside the recommended range.

SONU Check

Tap the mic icon in the bottom navigation bar on the SONU home screen.

Yes. SONUCheck is always available via the mic icon in the app.

No, but we recommend using it for more accurate and consistent recordings. Make sure it is paired before you start.

SONUCheck implements an automatic speech recognition module that requires a certain part of the sentence to be valid. This check avoids scoring words that are not in the sentence shown on the screen. It’s also possible that in loud or noisy environments, the accuracy may drop to a low level causing this error.

The app assesses nasal airflow based on sounds like “m” and “n.” You may still produce these sounds clearly despite feeling congested. SONUCheck also improves over time by learning from your data.

Yes, it’s completely free.

Tap the Start button to begin recording. After reading the sentence, tap Stop to end the recording.
